Rounding up the last trading day of the week, trading activities on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed in the negative territory. Thus, NSEASI gave up 140Bpts of its trading points, and closed at 40,439.85 from 41,014.30. It was a mixed performance amongst the observed market indices in this report. Although trading activities today produced more advancers against the laggers, the few highly capitalised equities that shed points strengthened the bear against market recovery. We are of the opinion that after the long pulled back, more active equities are becoming attractive to investors. Should this trend be sustained through the new week, we predict market recovery during the new week. We maintained that investors should play dividend stocks for portfolio defence and improved returns, during the audited earnings release season.

Value loss by the Market Capitalization of the listed equities during today’s trading activities was N300.521 billion, same as 140Bpts below the opening value.  Meanwhile, trading activities for the day produced 32 ADVANCERS and 09 LAGERS.
