Boosted By Dangcem & MTNN; NSEASI Pauses Six-Days Negative Moves

Boosted by gains of Dangcem and MTNN share price, equities trading on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange ended the fourth trading day of the week in the positive territory, as the lead performance pointer, NSEASI added 78Bpts to its trading points and closed at 41,014.30 from 40,696.01. It was a mixed performance amongst the observed market indices as shown in the index movement table. Thus, Week to Date, lead index is 167Bpts below opening, while Month to Date loss is now 330Bpts. See the index movement table for details.

As noted above, the seemingly recovery posted by the lead index at the end of today’s trading day was due to substantial gain in the share price of Dangote Cement and MTNN. Further establishing this fact are good numbers of active equities that closed below their respective opening prices. In our opinion, playing dividend stock will reduce investment risk at the moment; another intelligent investment option is to exit the dropping market and re-enter at the bottom, when it finds stronger support.

The total value gained by the Market Capitalization of the listed equities during today’s trading activities was N166.514 billion, same as 77pts above the opening value.
