Rounding up the last trading day of the week, activities trading on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange jerked north, as the lead performance pointer NSEASI added 115Bpts and rounded up trade at 41,245.36 from 40,777.67. Safe NSE-Oil&Gas that gave up marginal points other observed market indices ended in the green territory. Leading from this positive performance, overall performance for the week crossed to the positive axis, gaining 105Bpts while the Month to Date loss adjusted down to 62Bpts. Value gained by the market capitalization of the listed equities during today’s trading activities was N169.238 billion, same as 115Bpts below the opening value. Meanwhile, trading activities for the day produced 25 advancers and 14 lagers. NSEASI Year to Date gain is now 7.85% while the Market Capitalization Year to Date gain stood at N1.330 trillion same as 9.78% above the year’s opening value.
A total turnover of 1.825 billion shares worth N24.653 billion in 23,148 deals were traded this week on the floor of the Exchange against the 3.008 billion shares valued at N30.296 billion traded last week in 24,036 deals.
Thirty-three (33) equities appreciated in price during the week, and Forty-one (41) equities depreciated in price, while ninety-five (95) equities remained unchanged.
The week gainers’ log was lead by Forte Oil with 20.69% gain. Nestle followed with 13.53% while Learn Africa, Veritas Kapital and Consolidated Hallmark completed the top 5 gainers for the week with 12.5%, 12% and 10.35% respectively. Meanwhile the losers’ log was lead by Unity Bank with 21.26% loss, Glaxo Smithkline and Jaiz Bank followed with 20.79% and 15.44% respectively. Mutual Benefit and Skye Bank respectively made up the top 5 losers’ list for the week with 17.24% and 14.74%.
Leading from the last right issue, a total of 1,476,142,418 units was added to the outstanding shares of Flour Mills of Nigeria Plc on the 26th of April, 2018. With this supplementary listing, the total issued and fully paid up shares of the Company is now 4,100,379,605 units.
