Nigerian Equities Market: Update 29th November, 2016

Drifting further south, equities trading on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange gave up 34Bpts as it closed at 25,233.42 from 25,318.41 point. Week to Date loss is currently 39Bpts while total points lost in November increased to 730Bpts. It was a mixed performance among observed market indices as shown in the Index Movement log.

Value loss by the market capitalization of the listed equities during today’s trading activities was N29.257 billion same as 34Bpts below the opening value. Meanwhile, today’s trading activities produced 13 advancers and 20 lagers. NSEASI YtD return is negative     -11.90% while the Market Capitalization YtD loss stood at -N1.164 trillion.

Mobil Oil led the price percentage gainers’ log with 10.25% after gaining N22.48 to close at N241.89. University Press followed with 4.87% while UAC-Property added 4.68%. Total and AIICO completed the top 5 gainers with 3.83% and 3.51% respectively.

Forte Oil continued on a swift fall as it shed 9.74% and closed at N53.85. Oando lost 5% and Transcorp Hotel came third on the line with 4.90%. Fidelity shed 4.88% while Honeywell Flower Mills completed the top 5 percentage losers’ log with 4.67% lost.

Volume Index for today’s activity is 2.24 while buy volume and sell volume momentum is estimated at 35% and 65% respectively.
