Rounding up the last trading day of the week, trading activities on the floor of The Nigerian Stock Exchange closed in the positive territory. Thus, NSEASI added 16Bpts to its trading points, and closed at 25,572.57 from 25,532.74. Safe NSE-Insurance Index that shed points, all other observed market indices in this report closed above their respective openings. Thus, Week to Date, activities index is 8Bpts below opening, while the total gained points in the month of September is now 97Bpts. See the index movement table for details.
Performance for the week was mixed as the market started the week with two straight gains and three consecutive red days. Having received the long awaited financial positions of the banks with half year interim dividend policies and that of Fidelity Bank, investors are now re-shuffling portfolios against the nine months financial performance. Please note that Vitafoam and Neimeth are the only two listed equities with expected full year numbers at the moment. Also note that, the market had been receiving earnings forecast from few listed equities, although this should be followed as a guide, we recommend cautiousness while using the forecast since this is a long abandoned approach.
Value gained by the Market Capitalization of the listed equities during today’s trading activities was N20.815 billion, same as 16Bpts above the opening value. Meanwhile, trading activities for the day produced 32 ADVANCERS and 31 LAGERS. NSEASI Year to Date loss is now 473Bpts while the Market Capitalization Year to Date gain stood at N406.181 billion same as 313Bptsabove the year’s opening value.

The NSE All-Share Index depreciated by 0.08% while Market Capitalization appreciated by 0.10% to close the week at 25,572.57 and N13.365 trillion respectively.
Thirty Two (32) stocks closed the week green, while Thirty One (31) ended below their respective opening points, and One Hundred (100) closed on a flat note.
Wapic Insurance led the advancers log with 12.12% as it closed at N0.37 from N0.33. Learn Africa followed with 9.62% gain, thus, it ended at N1.14 from N1.04. Unity Bank, Neimeth and Ikeja Hotel completed the log with 9.62%, 9.55% and 9.52% gain respectively
Meanwhile, ABC-Transport led the decliners log with 16.67% loss, thus, it closed the week at N0.30 from N0.36. Nem Insurance followed with 9.78% drop to closed at N2.03 from N2.25. Tripple Gee, UPL and Union Diagnostic completed the log with 9.09%, 7.65% and 7.41% respectively.
All the banks that recently announced interim dividend got their respective prices adjusted during the week. UBA(N0.17), Guaranty Trust and Zenith Bank (N0.30), Stanbic IBTC (N0.40), and Access Bank (N0.25). Honey Well Flour Mills was equally adjusted for 4k cash dividend.
