Nigerian Equities Market: Update 28th November, 2016

Starting off the new week, the performance pointer of the Nigerian Bourse closed in the red. Point lost at the end of today’s trading activities is 6Bpts, by today’s performance, total point shed within the month of November increased to 699Bpts. It was a mixed performance among the observed market indices as shown in the index movement table.

Value loss by the market capitalization of the listed equities during today’s trading activities was N5.157 billion same as 6Bpts below the opening value. Meanwhile, today’s trading activities produced 8 advancers and 22 lagers. NSEASI YtD return is negative -11.60% while the Market Capitalization YtD loss stood at -N1.134 trillion.

The gainers log was lead by Mobil with 5% price appreciation. Etarna Oil gained 4.56% to close at N2.98 from N2.85. Fidson, Fidelity Bank and ETI completed the top five percentage gainers.

On the other hand, Forte Oil dipped further by 5% to close at N59.66. UACN equally shed 5% of its opening price as it closed at N16.15 from the opening point of N17.00. UAC Property followed with 4.86% loss while African Prudential and Mansard completed the top 5 price percentage losers log for the day.

Volume Index for today’s activity is 0.94 while buy volume and sell volume momentum is estimated at 53% and 47% respectively.
